Call for an Editorial Team - European Journal of Political Research (EJPR)

PRX Press Release - February 2018

Taylor & Francis partners with the European Consortium for Political Research to launch a new Open Access journal

Taylor & Francis and the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) are delighted to announce the 2019 launch of a new Open Access journal – Political Research Exchange (PRX), which aims to offer researchers a dynamic platform for innovation, debate and exchange across all fields of political science.

The ECPR is Europe’s largest political science association, with 350 institutional members and 30,000 individual affiliate members worldwide. Established in 1970, the ECPR exists to bring together political scientists and their research across geographies and all sub-fields of the discipline, through a range of conferences, workshops, training events and a high-profile publishing programme.

PRX will be the ECPR’s flagship Open Access publication. It offers significant subsidies on the author costs typically associated with Open Access publishing (with further discounts available for the ECPR’s affiliate members), ensuring the accessibility of high quality research in the political sciences.

The journal joins Taylor & Francis’ respected political science program, enhancing existing offerings in this area and furthering our commitment to open scholarship. Dan Trinder, Associate Editorial Director at Taylor & Francis Journals, said: “We are very proud to be partnering with ECPR on this exciting new project. As a fully Open Access journal, PRX will provide political scientists with a much-needed global platform for sharing their work beyond the reach of the traditional research community, and supporting the open scholarship agenda. We’re looking forward to seeing the cutting-edge research which will be brought to new audiences as a result of this partnership.”

Mary Farrell, Chair of the ECPR’s Publications Subcommittee added: “The growing demand for Open Access from both the scholarly community and the research funding bodies, and indeed the changing landscape of publishing more generally, makes this the right time to launch this journal. PRX offers our members (and the wider community) an accessible and fast route to publication, and the editorial policy of rigorous peer review will ensure the journal continues the high standards that are the hallmark of all the ECPR journals.”

PRX will be led by two Editors in Chief, Alexandra Segerberg (Stockholm University) and Simona Guerra (University of Leicester). The journal will launch in 2019, and is open for submissions from summer 2018.
